Forces philanthropic, academic, and policy-based converged in 2024 to ignite the creative fire from which were forged principles of excellence, strength and independence as applied to the noble enterprise of the accreditation of higher education. Disruption in the academy, though necessary and inevitable, creates voids that naturally attract innovative ideas, both virtuous and vicious.
The resource providers, intellects and organizational leaders of the National Association for Academic Excellence have intentionally chosen the virtues of excellence, strength, and independence as the foundation for a new accreditation authority formed to recognize, verify, and promote the characteristics of quality in contemporary higher education. Colleges and universities that assign high value to those
principles, and that welcome like-mined peers, constitute the tangible cadre of institutions that will promote the identity of NAAE.
